Winter Weather Hits HOME!

ICE, ICE and MORE ICE! Oklahoma was declared a State of Emergency Sunday night when ice coated every tree, which caused many to snap and take down power lines with them. We lost power Monday morning and by day four we were known as Dane Survival Compound we had giving the kids baths and getting them triple layered in cloths down to a artwork. All those years as cub scout leader finally came in handy :) We had no power but we had a gas hot water heater so at least the one thing to look forward to was the hot water. We were very lucky that no trees hit the house but they sure came close here are pics of the morning after, of our backyard and front yard. The sound of the trees snapping was amazing and scary at the same time....a sound I'll never forget.
